Hand-carved Aubergine Chawan

This tea bowl, hand-formed and carved from our house dark stoneware, was coated in our copper red glaze which, because of a batch of clay with less cobalt than usual, and a copper reduction that was strong than usual, gave us an aubergine-colored glaze over dark brown clay.
